Rivalry CAN be a WELCOMED ADDITION to one's life, AS LONG as you're willing to "PLAY YOUR CARDS RIGHT" against whatever opposition that poises itself, ONLY TO BE CONQUERED, MERCILESSLY. For example, I was on the bus this afternoon, on my way to Selis Manor, when I involved myself in a conflict with morrons, who didn't like that I was answering a question of someone, which happened to be the SAME ANSWER that I answered someone ELSE, before this LAST person got on, to whom I was talking, and ONE OF THEM accused me of "HAVING A CHIP ON MY SHOULDER." What I USED to do is whenever anyone would define THEIR IMPRESSION OF ME as something that I'm NOT, is protest in defense, the very thing NEVER TO DO, I learned, over time, as that'll do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, but INFLATE, RATHER THAN DEFLATE, the VERY OPPOSITION within the IMMEDIATE SITUATION. You don't wanna do that.
INSTEAD, MY IMMEDIATE RESPONSE was a rather "VICIOUS-WITHOUT-RAGE" getback, as calm as a gentle seabreeze on a clear summer's day: "Well, you may as well accuse me of having STOLEN THIS BUS that we're on, and have TAKEN IT FOR A JOY-RIDE, EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON, if you're gonna accuse me of having a ""CHIP ON MY SHOULDER." After ALL, they're BOTH JUST AS ABSOLUTELY ACCURATE, as YOU ARE, INTELLIGENT." Other than the sound of the droning motor, and passengers, entering and exitting, as well as paying their fare, you could've heard apin drop--I could've just IMAGINED the VERY STUPIFIED EXPRESSION that TAT TWO-LEGGED PARASITE might've had on ITS face, and to make matters worse for THEM, the person that I was LAST in conversation with, said to the one that I shut down: "If you'd just minded your own business, instead of giving your opinion, THIS wouldn't've happened to you--and I'm NOT taking ANY SIDES, either." On THAT note, I JUST SO HAPPENED to arrive at my stop.
Now, ALTHOUGH it may SEEM difficult, TURNING TABLES on the VERY OPPOSITION is ACTUALLY SAYING that IT, meaning THE OPPOSITION, is ABSOLUTELY POWERLESS; it's like THE LIGHTNINGLESS THUNDER, THE BITELESS BARK, THE FLAMELESS SPARK, THE WINDLESS STORM, THE LIFELESS CORPSE.
